The first prototypes were sewn almost immediately. The pump belt came later, after meeting another family looking for the same thing — something that would make the pump less present, less noticeable, ideally something that could help you forget, just for a moment, that it's even there.
That's still the goal with every product: clothing and accessories developed from real user experiences, made from carefully chosen materials, designed to feel like nothing at all.
Materials
Choosing the right fabric isn't a detail — it's most of the design process. Keikku uses as few synthetic materials as possible, and every material choice is considered from the full lifecycle perspective: where it comes from, how it's made, what happens to it at the end.
Understanding
Every day with Type 1 diabetes is different. What worked yesterday might not work today. The person behind Keikku understands the products, the devices, and the condition — because she lives with it too, as a parent. No unsolicited advice, no assumptions. Just someone who gets it, and listens.
